Hedging risk with Michelle Muscat

Yorgen Fenech has a lot of leverage over the disgraced former Premier Joseph Muscat. This could not be clearer after Michelle Muscat contradicted Keith Schembri’s claims about the incident in which Kenneth Camilleri’s gun allegedly went off accidentally during a political event.

Michelle Muscat could have chosen not to comment to the Times of Malta about Keith Schembri’s false story in court. Keith Schembri and Joseph Muscat were best friends, so it may appear strange that Joseph Muscat’s wife is publicly contradicting him.

However, it is not strange at all. Joseph Muscat and his wife are taking the risk of contradicting their close associate and friend in order to hedge against the risk posed by Yorgen Fenech. Joseph Muscat wants to show publicly that he is not trying to undermine Yorgen Fenech and is distancing himself from Keith Schembri’s position.

Obviously, Yorgen Fenech knew who owned the shell company Egrant because he ultimately knew to whom he was sending money and paying bribes.

    Some observations :

    Joseph Muscat has been very stressed lately. He’s losing more weight and is on anti anxiety pills. He is trying to avoid being seen in public.

    Neville Gafa is doing all the propaganda work for Muscat and they chat regularly. Gafa has taken a stand against Schembri and in favour of Yorgen. He is talking about betrayal.

    Schembri is threatening Muscat with exposing all of his dirty deals and where he has his money hidden.

    Gafa has been lately trying to deviate the attention and put the blame of the victim. ( Daphne and Daphnes family )

    There exist incriminating texts about corruption deals and money transfers involving Muscat. Muscat is terrified of being asked questions in court during the current trial. ( Muscat will be called as a witness after Theuma )
