Yesterday, during his press conference, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that he had contacted Peter Caruana Galizia, Daphne’s ex-husband, to send a message of support following the verdict.
The Prime Minister made the comment publicly to show sympathy and empathy for the family.
However, Daphne and Peter’s son, Matthew Caruana Galizia, has denied the Prime Minister’s claim, saying that it was not true that the Prime Minister had contacted his father.
He said that the family had tried to meet with the Prime Minister, but that he refused the meeting. A meeting has now been called by the Prime Minister’s Office, with the family asking for more time before the meeting takes place.
