Prime Minister Robert Abela has held no bilateral meetings so far while in New York for the United Nations General Assembly. Instead he gave a speech at the Concordia Summit at the Sheraton Hotel where he once again extolled the virtues of his government for distributing fuel and electricity subsidies and also mentioned his government’s Vision 2050.

He also attended a conference along with other leaders on Palestine called “The Road Ahead: One Year After the New York Declaration and the Comprehensive 20-point Peace Plan”.
Malta held one diplomatic engagement so far in New York and it was with Zimbabwe.
Minister Chris Fearne however held a bilateral meeting with his Libyan counterpart from Tripoli, Taher Al-Baour, and discussed migration, financial assets and seabed issues on which he said there was progress.
Malta ha also been appointed as the Vice-Chair to the UN’s Women Executive Board
Premier Robert Abela is expected to speak at the UNGA on Friday morning.
