The Malta Football Association (MFA) has announced that Mtarfa FC will be referred to its Member Status Committee after the club failed to turn up for a second consecutive BOV National League 1 fixture.
The latest no-show prompted the association to initiate proceedings to review the club’s current situation and determine what action should be taken.
In a statement, the MFA confirmed that its Member Status Committee would examine the circumstances surrounding Mtarfa’s failure to fulfil their scheduled fixtures.
Following the committee’s review and determination, the matter will be referred to the MFA Executive Committee, which will take a decision in accordance with the applicable regulations.
The association also confirmed that disciplinary charges would be issued against Mtarfa FC in connection with alleged breaches of its regulations.
The announcement followed growing concerns over the club’s participation in the competition after it failed to honour two consecutive league fixtures.
Any further action against Mtarfa will depend on the outcome of the committee’s review and the subsequent decision of the MFA Executive Committee.
