Juror Anna Fava was the juror who said that Daphne’s children don’t mourn her

Anna Fava is the juror who served on the jury in Yorgen Fenech’s trial and made the acerbic comment in a WhatsApp group chat among the jurors that Daphne Caruana Galizia’s sons do not mourn her. She made the comment in a typically Maltese ignorant way, when someone says something completely stupid in full confidence that it supposedly strengthens their argument.

In reality, Anna Fava knows that when she projects this hatred and stupidity, she is projecting a narrative long propagated by the Labour Party media and its propagandists. The collective within Labour carries a heavy degree of hatred towards Daphne Caruana Galizia and even other journalists, so the reward mechanism of these people’s brains is conditioned by loathing and venom against those they deem to be critics of the Labour Party.

Jurors like Anna Fava used the jury as a political opportunity to project and assert their hatred against Labour’s critics, thinking that doing so would reward them within the Labour collective. This is why, in the WhatsApp group created by the jurors following the verdict, Anna Fava said those things. She wanted to be identified as someone who evokes the hateful venom acquired by the Labour Party over the years, and we are happy to oblige her.

My strong criticism of our local academics is also strongly relevant here. No one is discussing and publishing the historical, social, cultural and anthropological aspects of what is leading to this stupidity and hatred. The previous Pro-Rector, Carmen Sammut, described this hatred and stupidity as a legitimate political opinion in a binary partisan divide: this is not the case. There are deep social and cultural problems that are keeping the Maltese stupid, hateful and cruel. We are ultimately a very mediocre society, unable to achieve greatness and unable even to solve our problems, such as traffic, infrastructure and energy. We suck at sports, science and the arts and basically at any other human endeavour.

If we had an actual intelligentsia that was also honest, we would have been reading long tomes and papers by our academics on why Labour has kept society stupid, hateful and mediocre, and how this ignorance is leading to the collapse of morality, education, knowledge and every intellectual field.
