If you are charged with serious accusations that could lead you to up to 18-years in prison among dozens of other backstabbing, unscrupulous and psychopathic criminals, wouldn’t you want a lawyer who exclusively looks out for your own interests? I suppose, so but that’s not what Konrad Mizzi seems to be doing.
The Labour Party’s criminal lawyers who also double as lawyers for Hollywood in the Mediterranean, are currently defending both Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi simultaneously in the upcoming Vitals and Steward court case. Edward Gatt and Mark Vassallo are actually Keith Schembri’s lawyers, and they are routinely used by other Labour Party criminals like Rosianne Cutajar.
In this case, Edward Gatt and Mark Vassallo have a conflict in defending Konrad Mizzi and Keith Schembri at the same time because Mizzi’s and Schembri’s interests in the case are different. In all the corruption cases he was involved in, Konrad Mizzi was the weakest link. The vulnerable, yet also criminal idiot who was used by more conniving and evil criminals. Keith Schembri is ensuring that Konrad Mizzi doesn’t talk. In fact, Konrad Mizzi could talk a lot and had the Police worked on this case as diligently as the Magistrate did, they would have hauled Konrad Mizzi to the chip, and made him spill the beans on literally every corrupt activity he was involved in. Just as Konrad Mizzi was manipulated by Joseph Muscat and Keith Schembri, it is just as easy to make him produce a confession and strike a deal with the prosecutors.
Konrad Mizzi is afflicted with Aspergers Syndrome and this may have exacerbated his trauma in 2019. His turn to religion is not just a typical opportunistic move to seek a layer of protection, it is also a genuine response on his part to seek some comfort after his friends betrayed him, his wife left him, and has very few people left in his life. He’s at his most vulnerable lows and he isn’t even in control of himself, let alone in control of the choice of his own criminal lawyers.
