Selling Maltese residency to the Chinese

There was a very interesting revelation by a commentator under this article about previous Parliamentary Secretary for Citizenship, Alex Muscat. Someone stated that after losing his ministerial portfolio, Alex Muscat kept selling Maltese residency and passport in private in China and Dubai.

There is online evidence which proves this and apparently, Alex Muscat was also in China last year. From an article written in Mandarin on a Chinese website, Alex Muscat was in Shanghai on April 18th 2023, more specifically at the courtyard of the Marriott Hotel in Jing’an selling the Malta Permanent Residency Programme.

Alex Muscat was invited in China by Wailian Overseas Travel, whose founder and president was arrested in China months later for illegal foreign currency exchange. Basically, she was accused of moving money out of China, and this is the main reason why the Chinese would want these companies to help them get foreign residency and passports. Alex Muscat was introduced by the staff of Wailian to their guests as the lawmaker of Malta’s MPRP and a current “immigration lawmaker”.

Alex Muscat is a close ally of Joseph Muscat who, coincidentally, is also in the business of selling Maltese residency to the Chinese via Delsk.
