Thanks mainly to Joseph Muscat and his helper Louis Grech, multiple members of the Labour Party have been making money off the Chinese via various ways including by selling passports, rentals and and now even property and this private economy facilitated by the Maltese government is opening Malta to Chinese influence. Joseph Muscat himself has been running various corrupt businesses his Chinese associates and his minions have followed suit.
Creating this shady private economy seems to have been the plan from the very beginning. Michelle Muscat is thanking the Chinese for being significant donors to her husband’s income by promoting acupuncture in Malta.
This shady economy started from passport sales and then developed to visas and now even property. Joseph Muscat’s minions, such as Charlon Gouder have obtained a central position in this Maltese-Chinese economy. We literally have politicians like Daniel Attard, the Mayor of Gฤงasri who is compromised by Chinese money. It should not be a surprise then that Daniel Attard peddles Chinese propaganda and is himself enabling Chinese influence through his political work. Money comes first for these individuals so they have no qualms in literally selling their home-country to the Chinese. China is not stupid of course and the Communist Party is enjoying reading these articles. The Chinese will exploit any vulnerability they can find to peddle and expand their influence and power: offering free trips to China, business deals, clients and investments are all methods that China uses to insert itself.
Note, that the corrupt Chinese lobbying of European politicians is blatant and very much in our faces. What no one failed to mention yet about Daniel Attard’s (the MEP) attendance to a football match along with Huawei representatives is that the Chinese don’t even like football and they are the last people on Earth who would be interested in the prowess and achievements of athletes or sportsmen who are not from their own home-country. Who were the Huawei representatives that were soliciting Daniel Attard (the MEP)ย – Daniel Attard is also not stupid and he knew that the Huawei officials were lobbying him.
China is also peddling its influence to Labour openly – once again – charming potential supporters with free trips and deluding them with pseudo political discussions that give the hosts the false impression that they are doing something important. Research is also one of the latest excuses to insert Chinese influence into Maltese academia with China even making a profit out of these arrangements. The University of Malta is also hiring academics that advocate for good relations with China.
The situation has become so humiliating and desperate that Labour Ministers are even engaging in outright banalities and official grift-like schemes just to say they have been to China. We even have the Prime Minister making adverts for Chinese products in Malta. And local politicians are now following their masters and are seeking the Chinese cut.
The Labour government is also actively legitimising China abroad by joining its kangaroo courts. China in turn uses Malta as an example to show that EU countries can have a good relationship with China.
Most of the 5300 Maltese passports sold were sold to Chinese citizens. Some of these Chinese citizens have been discovered to be carry serious security risks. Thousands of residential-visas were also sold to the Chinese.ย China owns 33% of Enemalta and also 49% of Malta’s Freeport.
China will purchase Malta in a piecemeal manner because they can and they have the capability to do so. They are not our allies nor our friends, and at best, China should be treated as a trading partner with extreme caution. On the other hand, the Labour Party has opened the floodgates for Chinese influence in Malta with its politicians scrambling to get a piece of the shady and private Chinese-Labour Party economy. These are very serious matters which are threatening our national security and our long-term existence as a nation and a state. This is one of those issues in which immigration can be used as a hostile weapon against a small state โ yet there is a lack of nationalist sentiment willing to confront this reality, which should concern supposed nationalists more than the immigration of foreign workers who are part of the precarious labour market.
