The title is rhetorical, of course, because we all know it doesn’t. Robert Abela’s recent moves have been exclusively aimed at appeasing Joseph Muscat and his faction. From ensuring Alex Agius Saliba‘s path to the Deputy Leadership, to the return of Rosianne Cutajar, and the exit of Randolph Debattista – these are all exactly what Joseph Muscat wanted. Joseph Muscat even gets a bonus by having the Labour Party’s CEO.
Joseph Muscat is turning national politics about him and the next general election will be referendum about him. That’s quite a big bet to pull off given that if you lose, you’d probably lose everything and more, but at this point it’s very typical of him to be acting this way. He’s megalomaniac and psychotic and he is ready to drag down the Labour Party with him hoping he has some sort of way out from justice.
Meanwhile, the Labour Party delegates look like willing cucks in the charade that’s turning the Labour Party into Joseph Muscat’s own fiefdom, once again. Robert Abela may well resign and hand over the Labour Party leadership to Joseph Muscat. After four years in power,Robert Abela failed miserably in his attempt, if there was any, to turn the party around and move it forward; instead, he allowed it to decay even further.
Personally, I’m amused to watch these incredible scenes of self-destruction. Objectively, the nation is in a very sad state.
