Keith Schembri drops constitutional case over his breach of rights on misplaced mobile case

Last week in court, Keith Schembri dropped his case over a breach of rights concerning his misplaced mobile phone in the court’s evidence room. This followed a court expert’s testimony, stating that after analysing the mobile phone, no tampering was found.

Keith Schembri filed his constitutional case last case after his mobile phone was misplaced in the court evidence room of Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech. The mobile phone was used as evidence in the ongoing Progress Press case. Last week, Keith Schembri’s ex-wife Josette Vella Schembri appeared in Court on charges relating to the same case.

Since the saga of the misplaced phone occurred, the Magistrate presiding over the case was moved to a different court and the Progress Press case is now being presided by Magistrate Leonard Caruana.
