Chinese bulk carrier Yi Peng boarded by Danish Navy after cutting communications cables in the Baltic Sea

The Chinese bulk carrier Yi Peng 3 has been boarded by the Danish Nay yesterday evening after the ship was caught cutting a telecommunications cable in the Baltic Sea. The ship was travelling to Egypt from Russia.

Danish authorities are considering the actions of the Yi Peng 3 as deliberate acts of sabotage after having viewed the footage of the ship going back and forth over the under-sea cables. At least two different cables were damaged including a cable between Germany and Finland and a cable between Sweden and Lithuania.

Danish troops stopped and landed on the bulk carrier yesterday evening with the HDMS Søløven.

Investigations  by the Danish authorities are ongoing.
