Syrian rebels are currently battling Bashar al-Assad’s forces in the outskirts of Aleppo after continuing their gains in their offensive begun earlier this week. Up to 120 Syrian Army soldiers have been killed in the rebel offensive of today and additionally more Russian and Iranian soldiers have also been killed and captured. The Syrian rebels are additionally capturing Russian and Iranian weaponry as they capture more towns and villages.
Syrian rebels have taken control of the M5 highway connecting Aleppo to Damascus and can potentially cut off Bashar al-Assad’s forces in Aleppo from the capital. The rebels have capitalised on the withdrawal of Hezbollah from the area to start a major offensive against Bashar al-Assad’s forces and their Russian and Iranian allies.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Bashar al-Assad is today in Moscow meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
