A fight broke out yesterday in prison involving Vince Muscat (Il-Koħħu) and Daniel Meli. Vince Muscat who is currently in Division 6 is spending time in prison for his conviction of the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia along with George and Alfred Degiorgio. Daniel Meli, who is currently in Division 15, is awaiting his appeal against his extradition to the United States over cyber crime.
Meanwhile, an investigation is ongoing by the Ombudsman on reports of maladministration in prison and that Yorgen Fenech is being treated with exceptional prison privileges including handling significant sums of money. Reports from prison officials to this website also state that several luxury watches have been found on inmates in recent weeks. They also report continued confusion in the administration of the prison due to political appointments of unqualified personnel.
