Two Turkish journalists were killed in Kobani at the end of this week as pro-Turkish forces attacked the Kurdish city of Kobani. The city is under fire by pro-Turkish groups while the Turkish army is amassing its units on its border after the Kurds are refusing to disarm and give up territory to the new Syrian leadership.
Kurdish journalists Nazim Dashdan and Jihan Belki were driving their car in Kobani before they were targeted and killed by a Turkish drone. This is not the first time that Turkey targeted Kurdish journalists and professionals in the publishing industry. Last year Turkey killed the Kurdish journalist Gullistan Tara in Iraq with an airstrike, and also killed Riyad Hamo and Berivan Zubair in an airstrike that targeted a printing press in Qamishli.ย
As of recently, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan accused Israel of committing a “big genocide” in Gaza.
