US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wants Ukraine to capitulate and cede land: does not want Ukraine to join NATO

During his visit to NATO Headquarters in Brussels earlier today, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that he does not see the possibility of Ukraine returning to its 2014 borders and denied there is a realistic possibility of Ukraine joining NATO. This has also been the consistent position of President Donald Trump who wants Ukraine to capitulate to Russia.

Ukraine is being pressured by the United States to capitulate to Russia without any effective NATO security guarantee, leaving it vulnerable to further Russian aggression and jeopardising its future and existence. President Trump is also demanding Ukraine $500 billion in rare earth minerals as payment for the US aid. US aid to Ukraine amounted up to $183 billion mostly consisting of surplus military hardware.

President Trump is also in contact with the Kremlin with discussions on Ukraine ongoing, but has refused to divulge any details. President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are publicly maneuvering to extract their desired outcomes from Ukraine without Ukraine’s approval.
