Labour backbencher MP Michael Farrugia, seemingly eager to make headlines, recently resurfaced with some absurd pro-Labour vitriol after largely fading from public attention.
The Corruption Perceptions Index is based on a survey made from the opinions and perceptions of local businessmen, and it has got nothing to do with NGOs, journalists or government critics. The real question about this survey should be is why the local business community is saying one thing in public about government corruption, but in private it is saying something completely different. The answer to this question is that, most likely, businesspeople fear government retribution if they speak critically of it.
