The Chamber of Commerce is taking cues from the Nationalist Party and released a very “positive” press release about the government’s reforms about Magisterial Inquiries, listing all the good points about the reform before making its proposals, and even saying that the government may have had good intentions with the reform.
The tone and criticism contrasts with the press release issued by the Chamber of Advocates which condemned outright the government’s overreach into the Judiciary’s independence. And it surely contrasts from the tone and style of the press releases by The Chamber of Commerce of the 1980s, which back then, was somehow more motivated to fight for rule-of-law than it is today.
No one believes that the government has good intentions in its reforms on Magisterial Inquiries. Saying otherwise just exposes you to ridicule for your stupid ingratiation.
