Head of Malta Union of Teachers announces deal with the government over MCAST Collective Agreement

The President of the Malta Union of Teachers Marco Bonnici announced that the union and the government reached a deal over the MCAST collective agreement.

The head of MCAST had previously declared an industrial dispute with the MUT leading to the union to declare industrial action. Industrial action was eventually postponed to enter into talks with the government.

As of now, no details have been disclosed to MUT members on the deal with the government, but union members will be called to vote on the agreement. The MUT has often been criticised by some of its members for pressuring them to sign agreementsย without giving the members enough time to discuss the agreements internally between the members.
