The trial by jury against Robert Agius, Adrian Agius (Tal-Maksar brothers) and Jamie Vella for producing and supplying the bomb that killed Daphne Caruana Galizia continued earlier today. Police stated in Court that the bomb was mixed with metal bits and ball-bearings to cause maximum damage.
A box of ball bearings, guns, bullets, and materials to make bombs and weapons were found in Jamie Vella’s property. In searches of various properties the Police said they found passports, weapons, cash and also a silencer.
The bomb that killed Daphne Caruana Galizia was also planted right under the seat for maximum impact. Vince Muscat was sentenced 15 years in prison for executing the hit while fellow triggerman George Degiorgio and his brother Alfred Degiorgio were sentenced 40 years in prison each.
Adrian Agius, Jamie Vella and George Degiorgio are separately being accused of murdering the accountant Carmel Chircop. The Prosecutor is accusing Jamie Vella, Adrian and Robert Agius (Tal-Maksar brothers) and George Degiorgio of forming part of the same criminal network that was involved in multiple murders and car-bombs.
