Ramona Attard to be fielded on the sixth district to counter Rosianne Cutajar

As stated in our previous article, the Labour Party hasn’t yet made any official announcement on its new and upcoming candidates for general election of 2027, but the names are already being prepared and propped up.

The Labour Party wants to pretend that it is not preparing for a general election, when in reality, it’s campaigning for the election and votes on a day-to-day basis. As the government uses its power of incumbency to buy votes and even candidates themselves, the Labour Party is simultaneously preparing its candidates and future trajectories, always trying to be further steps ahead of the Opposition.

Supreme Leader Robert Abela also needs to contend with Joseph Muscat’s growing influence in the Labour Party and he knows very well that it is in his best own interest to ensure that Joseph Muscat doesn’t get the upper hand in the parliamentary group. The Labour Party is preparing for this by pitching its heavyweights where Joseph Muscat has his allies.

Ramona Attard will be fielded on the sixth district in the upcoming general election, which is also the home district of Rosianne Cutajar. Rosianne Cutajar received up to 2,158 first preference votes in the last general election, well behind Roderick Galdes and Silvio Schembri who got 4035 and 4287 first-preference votes, respectively.

Rosianne Cutajar has already protested about this prospect to the Labour Party’s officials and to the Supreme Leader himself.

Rosianne Cutajar is currently under investigation over money-laundering by the Police.
