Following an earlier advisory against swimming in the area of Wilġa Street in St Julian’s, the Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health has confirmed that the area is once again safe for bathing.
In line with the EU Bathing Water Directive, repeated seawater sampling was conducted over the past few days at the affected site. The results have shown that the water quality now meets the required safety standards. As a result, the precautionary health warning has been officially withdrawn.
For more information, members of the public are encouraged to contact the Environmental Health Directorate between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on 2133 7333 or by emailing wrau.ehd@gov.mt.
