A 27-year-old man from Paola tragically lost his life early this morning in a traffic accident in Pembroke.
The fatal collision occurred at around 1:00 a.m. on Triq Sant’Andrija. Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the accident involved a BMW 1 Series, driven by a 22-year-old man from St. Paul’s Bay, and a Honda motorcycle ridden by the victim.
Emergency medical teams responded immediately and the motorcyclist was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Magistrate Dr Ian Farrugia LL.D has been notified and appointed an inquiry into the case. Meanwhile, police investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances leading to the crash.
