UPDATED:
Police have confirmed that the toddler has passed away at Mater Dei Hospital in the last few hours.
The Magisterial Inquiry and Police investigations are still ongoing.
A 1-year and 4-month-old boy is in critical condition after falling into a private residence pool in Triq Gnien Imrik, Xagħra, Gozo.
The incident occurred yesterday at around 7:30pm. Police and a medical team from Gozo General Hospital rushed to the scene, where the child was found unconscious.
He was initially taken to Gozo General Hospital, then urgently transferred by helicopter to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical treatment.
A magisterial inquiry led by Simone Grech has been launched, and police investigations are ongoing.
