The previously suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Edward Scicluna is back at the Central Bank as Governor after having pestered the Prime Minister and his circle to allow him to retake his post while he is charged over the Vitals case. He pressured the Prime Minister and his colleagues over to keep his post despite facing charges of abetting money-laundering and fraud in the Vitals and the Steward Health Care public contracts.
Edward Scicluna doesn’t need a salary and can survive on his pension and his savings but he humiliated himself to fight and beg for his job despite the dark shadow hanging over him. Now, he is going to shame the whole country by retaking his post so that he can play financial bureaucrat behind the Frankfurt desk in Valletta.
Even Tonio Fenech had some dignity when he left after being voted out in 2013. Labour has surpassed the Nationalist Party in every negative aspect, including by appointing the most pathetic and fraudulent Finance Minister in the country’s history, dragging down Malta’s reputation with his disgraceful downfall.
The man is a shame and a stain on our nation especially at a time when Malta is supposedly making efforts to project our compliance with international anti-money-laundering and regulatory standards. He knows all of this, of course, because he is not stupid. He’s also pathetic and self-centered.
