Al-Jazeera journalist Anas Al-Sharif killed by Israeli airstrike: IDF say he was Hamas terrorist

An Al-Jazeera journalist and father of two called Anas al-Sharif was killed in an airstrike on a tent along with three other Al-Jazeera colleagues. 7 people were killed in total in the strike near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The IDF issued a statement saying that Anas al-Sharif was a Hamas terrorist. It’s not clear what evidence did the IDF bring to prove their claims other than documents they say they found in Gaza which includes his name in Hamas rosters.

Israel has killed more than 200 journalists and media workers in Gaza and Palestine since October 7th 2023 many of whom it accuses of being Hamas terrorists.

In his penultimate tweet, Anas al-Sharif reported about a “fire-belt” bombing by Israel along the south and east of Gaza city. In his last tweet he uploaded the video of the sound of the bombing. In his will, published after his death, he urged readers not to remain silent about Gaza and appealed for his family to be taken care of.

Israel is currently conducting a full-scale occupation plan of Gaza and displacing the remaining residents to coast of Gaza along the Al-Mawasi camp.
