Israel kills four journalists in a regular day of massacres in Gaza

Israel has killed four journalists earlier this morning in an airstrike outside the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis. The journalists include Mohammed Ashraf Salama, one of Middle East Eye’s main reporters in Gaza (pictured above), Hossam al-Masri of Reuters,  Moaz Abu Taha of NBC and Mariam Abu Daqa who worked for The Independent‘s Arabic affiliate.

Israel struck the Nasser Medical Complex twice in a double-tap airstrike and up to three rescue workers were also killed in the attack. The Nasser Medical Complex is one of the last operating medical centres in Gaza

In a statement issued after the attack, the Israeli Foreign Ministry “regretted any harm to uninvolved individuals” and said that it does not target journalists. Israel has killed more than 220 journalists and media workers since it started its campaign in Gaza in 2023.

Airstrikes also targeted the Al-Quds Open University in the vicinity of Hamad City, north of Khan Younis.

Airstrikes also continued today in Jabalia and Gaza City as part of Israel’s ethnic cleansing operation in the north of Gaza.
