Breaking: Carlo Gavazzi factory in Malta to close down

The Carlo Gavazzi factory in Bulebel that produces electronic equipment such as timers, sensors and metres, will be closing down according to a press release issued by the mother company today. Up to 230 people work at the factory.

Malta’s production line will now be replaced by the company’s factories in China and Mexico.

The statement is published below.

August 29, 2025 โ€“ Carlo Gavazzi Group announces a restructuring of its affiliate Carlo Gavazzi Limited, Malta, which shall lead to a progressive reduction and eventual closure of production in Malta. The Carlo Gavazzi Group’s product range will not be affected. Production of the products previously manufactured in Malta will be continued at other Group locations, in particular at the plants in Mexico and China.
