The General Workers’ Union has reached an agreement with Carlo Gavazzi

The General Workers’ Union has announced on its official news portal that it has rea an agreement with the manufacturer Carlo Gavazzi over the closure of its factor in Malta. The union said that workers will be compensated with a generous financial package but did not divulge details.

The union had previously declared an industrial dispute after Carlo Gavazzii announced its closure plans. Up to 140 workers will be made redundant by the factory which came to Malta in 1988.
