Bulgaria investigates Russia’s GPS jamming: German Chief of Defence warns of sabotage attacks by Russia

The EU Commission’s Spokesperson Arianna Podesta confirmed that the Bulgarian authorities suspect Russia for jamming the GPS of the EU Commission President’s plane when it was en route to Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In a separate press conference in Berlin, the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, Carsten Breue, stated that Europe is experiencing an increasing number of sabotage attacks by Russia and that he once also experienced GPS jamming of his plane while flying over the Baltic Sea and Lithuania.

Russia’s latest escalatory actions against Europe come during the same time that Ukraine is effectively dismantling Russia’s oil industry with regular attacks against its oil infrastructure. Meanwhile, Russia launched its regular barrage of drones against Ukrainian cities overnight sending up to 150 drones with most of them being intercepted and one civilian casualty reported in Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region.

In Russia, press reports state that there is yet no agreement on President Donald Trump’s plan to hold a trilateral meeting between him, Vladimir Putin and President Volodymyr Zelensky. Previous National Security Advisor John Bolton, who recently had his residences raided by the FBI, reiterated that chances for peace after President Trump’s meeting with Putin in Alaska are even lower now, after President Trump has legitimised Vladimir Putin and his illegal war in Ukraine even further.
