The Labour government is currently manipulating the Justice system, politics and the media to rehabilitate a criminal and corrupt politician after this politician failed to bully and silence a journalist with the backing of the state broadcaster and the Labour Party’s propaganda machine. I apologise in advance for referring to myself in the third person, and I have no pretensions, but I need to describe the situation effectively given that there is a very extended cover-up going on abetted by the Labour government which is wrapped around an extensive propaganda campaign of lies and vilification against The Maltese Herald and also my work.
The publication of the chats between Rosianne Cutajar and Yorgen Fenech prompted a Police investigation against her over money-laundering. The chats had revealed that Rosianne Cutajar received several gifts from Yorgene Fenech which can technically be considered as bribes and gifts for political favours. She also received a fraudulent contract from the Institute of Tourism Services. In relation her fraudulent cotnract, Rosianne Cutajar admitted that she was going to “pig out” (kulฤงadd jitฤงanลผer). I published the chats during the course of a vexatious libel case that Rosianne Cutajar opened against me. She also reported me to the Police over vexatious claims that I threatened her (I never even spoke to her or contacted her), and she lost the case. She gave up her libel case when the chats were published.
All along, the Labour Party’s propaganda machine and the state broadcaster vilified me, took Rosianne Cutajar’s side, spread lies about me, and Labour supporters riled up against me even openly and publicly writing threats of violence against me and my family in public support of Rosianne Cutajar. I have these messages saved for posterity.
The Labour Party and Rosianne Cutajar tried to bully me into silence while attacking my reputation for publicly outing one of its MPs as totally corrupt – and I did this with clear-cut evidence. Since the evidence was published, Rosianne Cutajar and the Labour Party changed the goal-posts and said that the evidence, which involve her own words, are a personal attack against her.
Having the privilege of being a Labour MP, Rosianne Cutajar went to the office of the Attorney General personally after I published her chats with Yorgen Fenech. She expressly demanded the Attorney-General to investigate me criminally for publishing her own words. The Attorney General obliged and the Police promptly indicted me for publishing evidence I supposedly should never have published.
Simultaneously, and this is were things get very bizarre, while the Police were charging me for publishing the chats as evidence, the Police were using the chats as evidence in a new investigation they opened against Rosianne Cutajar. The publication of the chats prompted the Police to launch an investigation against Rosianne Cutajar over corruption and money-laundering. We could confirm that this investigation took place because the Police requested Rosianne Cutajar’s records at Bank of Valletta and also requested information about her from Parliament. She was also interrogated.
Think for a moment about the gross distortion of justice that already took place at this point. The Police had evidence which could have been used against Rosianne Cutajar to indict her over corruption but this evidence was suppressed. When this evidence was published, someone found this evidence useful enough for a Police investigation. Already at this stage, there has been a second miscarriage of justice with the Police and the Attorney-General attacking a journalist while protecting a corrupt MP.
The miscarriages of justice and the cover-ups don’t stop there. It gets even more complex and muddy after a pro-Labour Judge accuses me of “terrorism” for publishing evidence that a politician is corrupt. I do not know and can not confirm if the Judge is involved in a cover-up, but the Judge’s sentence is bizarre and extremely dubious, especially given its personal attacks and as it comes at the same time that the publication of the chats had prompted a Police investigation.
At this stage, I can not prove this, but I have no doubt that the Attorney-General and the Police Commissioner are doing their best to cover-up for a corrupt politician as they try to criminalise a journalist and the press. If the Police actually wanted to prosecute Rosianne Cutajar, they would have done so already, just as they pursued me.
This case does need some thought to be understood, but eventually everything comes together when the facts are laid out. A corrupt politician was covered up by the highest echelons of justice and the government conducted a destructive campaign against a journalist for revealing evidence of corruption.
I have no doubt that things will unravel in the future and probably they may unravel sooner than the Labour Party thinks. Rosianne Cutajar’s case is not just about the discrimination and the attacks that I experienced. It’s a textbook case of how our government and our justice system protect corrupt politicians at the expense of the free press, justice and the rule-of-law. I’m simply amazed at how far our Attorney-General and the Police Commissioner think they can get away by persecuting a journalist to protect a blatantly corrupt politician, but Rosianne Cutajar herself gives the best explanation for their gross and disgusting, criminal behaviour.
