Earlier today at the Nationalist Party event in which the party leader is being interview by students, Opposition Leader Alex Borg pledged that the Nationalist Party’s proposal to introduce constitutional safeguards for the environment will result into more green spaces, including the green belt between Maltese villages.
The green belt seperating villages, which is also important for Malta’s agriculture and water catchment, has been rapidly eroded in the recent years with overdevelopment that disregarded planning policies and environmental regulations.
The Labour Party has opposed the Nationalist Party’s proposals for constitutional amendments and is instead proposing new laws that will further erode environmental regulations.
The Opposition Leader has also pledged a new hospital for mental health and new medical facilities in Gozo.
The Opposition Leader was speaking at an event organised with AลปAD, the PN’s youth academy.
