The police have confirmed that this evening, at around 6pm, a youth will be arraigned in court in connection with yesterdayโs stabbing incident at a school in Pembroke.
He is expected to appear before Magistrate Abigail Critien, where he will face charges related to the case.

The victim is still in hospital and was yesterday registered as being in critical condition.
ADPD-Green Leader Sandra Gauci declared her solidarity with the school’s staff and said that the government had ignored warnings that the security situation in schools is detoriarating.
These calls come amid statements by former education minister, Evarist Bartolo, urging that schools introduce metal-detector screening of schoolbags – a view echoed by some parents.
At present, a magisterial inquiry is underway, and the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation has confirmed it is fully cooperating with law-enforcement investigations.

Police have confirmed that the incident involved two fourth-form Libyan boys. The victim is in hospital in critical condition and in danger of losing his life.
Sources who spoke to The Maltese Herald allege that one of the boys, last week had hidden his mobile phone under a locker. The student who discovered it is said to have reported the matter to an Assistant Head.
According to the same sources, the boy who had concealed the phone confronted the Assistant head and reacted aggressively, shouting at her and making threats towards staff and students.
The sources further claim that the same boy returned to school on Monday, ‘to settle the score’, ultimately leading to the stabbing of another fourth-form boy during the morning altercation.
Police have not confirmed these details and investigations are ongoing.

St Clareโs stabbing: Authorities working to establish sequence of events
Police sources say investigators are still working to establish the sequence of events that led to the stabbing at St Clareโs College in Pembroke on Monday morning. Statements are being taken from students who witnessed the altercation, and CCTV footage from the school is being reviewed.
The 15-year-old student who was injured remains in hospital, with no official update yet on their condition. The other student involved is still being questioned in the presence of a legal guardian. ย Both students are foreign nationals.

Student stabbed at St Clare’s College Pembroke
A 15-year-old student is in hospital after being stabbed during a fight at St Clare’s College, Pembroke, earlier this morning. According to sources who spoke to The Maltese Herald, a fight broke out between students who were both armed with knives at around 7:20am.
One of the students suffered stab wounds and was rushed to hospital. The aggressor has been arrested.
