Requesting adjudication from his Chief Justice nominees: Joe Giglio

In another plot twist to the saga of the nomination for Chief Justice, the Shadow Justice Minister Joe Giglio is involved in the talks between the Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader in the selection of the new Chief Justice. Talks on the matter continued yesterday at the Auberge de Castille after the government’s motion to appoint Judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera for Chief Justice was voted down by the Opposition.

Joe Giglio is an active criminal-lawyer and has active and ongoing cases in Court. He seeks adjudication from the same Members of the Judiciary he has to choose for the position of Chief Justice. Nationalist Party apologists should stop excusing this farce: this is the kind of Banana Republic stuff that makes the Nationalist Party looks very unserious. Joe Giglio would be an asset for the Party as a spokesperson about pensions and social welfare: as a potential Justice Minister he is the Genghis Khan of conflicts of interests.

Meanwhile, both the Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader said that talks went well and will continue.
