Hezbollah propagandist assassinated by Israel along with two other journalists

Yesterday morning, Israel targeted and struck a car in Jezzine Lebanon, killing a Hezbollah propagandist and potential war criminal, along with two journalists who were accompanying him. Ali Shoeib, who worked for the official Hezbollah media TV station, Al-Manar, was assassinated along with journalists, Fatima Ftouni of Al-Mayadeen (also a pro-Hezbollah outlet) and and her brother, Mohammed Ftouni who worked as a photo-journalist.

Syrians remember Ali Shoeib, as one of the Hezbollah propagandists, who spread disinformation about the Siege of Aleppo from 2012 to 2016 where Hezbollah, Iran and Bashar al-Assad, massacred tens of thousands of people for refusing to give up to government control. More than 20,000 civilians were also killed during the siege and many suffered famine. The siege eventually ended in 2016 with heavy aerial bombardments by Russian forces. One of the commanders of the Siege of Aleppo was Qasem Soleimani who was killed by US President Donald Trump in an airstrike in Iraq in 2020.

Al-Manar is also listed as a terrorist organisation by the US government.

Ali Shoeib, can be seen below in photos with Bashar al-Assad’s military men and also Qaem Soleimani.

Israel commits war crimes regularly and strikes and murders civilians, journalists and aid-workers with impunity, however the embedding of propagandists and propaganda outlets of terrorist organisations into mainstream journalism is further compromising and threatening the lives of actual journalists in the field.
