Home Affairs Minister inaugurates football stadium plans with Joseph Muscat: money to come from Golden Passports fund

According to the press release issued by the government today, the link between Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri and the announcement of plans to build a new football stadium in Marsa stems from the fact that the project will be funded through revenues generated by the now-defunct golden passports scheme. The minister responsible for passports and identification documents is the Home Affairs Minister, Byron Camilleri.

The government press release has no details. The press release by the Malta Premier League includes even more details as it states that the project will be completed in 2030. In a Facebook message the Ministers and Joseph Muscat also said that private investors will be involved.

The mainstream press covering sports in Malta may fail to provide the proper context here, so allow me to digress. Essentially, we have the disgraced former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, who has been implicated in extensive corruption in every major public deal during his time in government, and the Labour government is now working on new public projects with him, even as his assets remain frozen and he faces aggravated charges of money laundering and corruption.
Not a Mafia State.

So Joseph Muscat has found another way to siphon off โ‚ฌmillions from his Passport Scam.
Once we’re at it… has anyone checked if H&P has paid Muscat or his “services”, be it money, property, etc?
