US President Donald Trump has now ordered the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz after negotiations with the Iranian regime in Islamabad, Pakistan, failed to yield result. WTI crude oil has opened 7% higher from Friday market close at around $96.1 for end of May on the news.
Iran’s Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who was part of the delegation in Islamabad, stated that Iran would continue to resist US aggression and also warned Americans of higher fuel prices as a result of the ne blockade.
There are currently no ongoing hostilities in Iran, either by Israel or the US, indicating that the ceasefire is still holding despite a breakdown in talks. Not the same can be said about Lebanon where Israel is still heavily bombing the south of Lebanon.
There is yet no indication or announcement when talks between Iran and the US will resume.
