Blocked from Facebook during an election campaign

I have been blocked from uploading any content on Facebook due to multiple vexatious complaints including a complaint with regard to an article about Khalifa Haftar’s money-man and his use of Malta to launder money. Unfortunately we will have reduced activity on Facebook and I will also be dedicating my time to address this issue.

We are in the middle of an election campaign and unfortunately this action will severely hamper our operations until I find solutions to this problem.

We had to let go of our social media manager in March this year due financial constraints. Facebook’s actions have already inflicted upon us economic damage and finding a solution will be costly.

The Labour government has systematically and purposefully funded most of the press outlets in Malta including many fake press outlets which are only intended to serve as vehicles for Labour Party propaganda. We are competing against press outlets that are constantly pumped with public funding.

We understand that we are working in a hostile environment to the free press where the press and information market is heavily manipulated and excessively influenced by the Labour government. We take pride that we are capable of surviving in these hostile conditions and we remain relentless to deliver our service and our regular investigative journalism.

We know what it means to be the underdog and we are not impressed by those who patronise us by pretending to claim this title for themselves.
