At a mass political rally in Birkirkara, Opposition Leader Alex Borg urged the Prime Minister to file a Police report over claims he made that the proposals handed to him for the gas and oil terminal in Hurd’s Bank were proposed by “Malta’s biggest oil-contrabandist”.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Robert Abela made gave these comments to the press and said that the same proposal being pitched by the Opposition Leader was also pitched to him. He said that the person who had proposed it to him also wanted to sign an MOU with the government.
The largest local bunkerer historically involved in oil smuggling has been Falzon & Falzon.
During the mass rally, the Opposition Leader also pledged to cut succession taxes and also property transfer taxes to family members.
