TMH’s story about Svetlana Muscat and Yorgen Fenech in prison comes up during testimony in Court today

It was a very interesting morning in Court today during the Prosecutor’s cross-examination of Yorgen Fenech in his trial. The Prosecutor questioned Yorgen Fenech about his intimate relationship with former Prison Head of Strategy Svetlana Muscat, a story which we were the first to break here.

The Judge interrupted the Prosecutor’s questioning, disallowing him from receiving an answer from Yorgen Fenech to that question.

Yorgen Fenech is currently being questioned by the Prosecutor over his links to politicians and his use of these contacts to obtain favours and advance his interests.

More worryingly, however, the Prosecutor also made reference to Yorgen Fenech’s chats with Keith Schembri, in which Keith Schembri showed him the Magisterial decree refusing Simon Busuttil’s request for an inquiry into 17 Black before the decree itself was published.

As we discussed here in this article, the Prosecutor clearly holds a lot of evidence of corruption and criminal association involving Yorgen Fenech’s associates, including Keith Schembri, giving the prosecution considerable leverage and material that could enable it to prosecute these individuals.

It remains to be seen whether the Prosecutor will act on this information.

The Prosecutor also made mention of NuxellinaLeaks today.

Am I the only one to suspect the defence has someone on the inside within the jury? So far:
    (A) tablets – the defence discovered the jury had access to headlines on their tablets – who told them?
    (B) the swimming rabbit muncher – the defence received a photo of former commissioner Cutajar swimming at the hotel where the jury are being put up. Again how did they get that?

    1. Or hotel guests, hotel staff, security staff, plain observation. Any of those could have observed the swimming rabbit muncher using the same pool assigned for the jury. It doesn’t say much for the ex-Commissioner’s boundaries that he actually thought it was an appropriate time to go for a swim, though.

Yes it could be. I think the defense would use anything as proof to dissolve this jury.

  2. […] was a very serious revelation in Court today regarding the previous Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil’s request for a Magisterial Inquiry […]
