Earlier this month, some Labour delegates have begun pushing back against Joseph Muscat’s clique which mounted a coordinated media and political campaign against the Labour Party leader and Prime Minister Robert Abela in order for them to acquire more power and influence on the Party. Their campaign successfully resulted with Alex Agius Saliba being appointed Deputy-Leader and Jason Micallef appointed as a member of the Party’s executive.
In a closed WhatsApp group, Neville Gafa was told off by several delegates who accused him of being a thorn in the party and causing unnecessary with his public comments.
Another delegate who confirmed with me this information informed me that delegates think of Joseph Muscat’s clique as opportunists who don’t care whether the Labour Party wins the elections or not unless they take advantage of the Party. In his exact words:
“They don’t care whether Labour wins or not unless they turn the Party into their own private club.”
Joseph Muscat’s clique who are fighting for his rehabilitation in the Party includes Neville Gafa, Jason Micallef and Manuel Cuschieri who are all in contact between each other and are coordinating their campaign.
One of their current demands to the Labour Party is that Joseph Muscat gets to have air-time on ONE, a request that is being denied by the Party’s top brass.
Meanwhile, Labour Leader Robert Abela is distancing himself from the infighting among delegates, choosing to remain silent and seemingly showing no intention to push back against the criminal clique he has been protecting.
