Breaking: Standards in Public Life Committee to vote unanimously in favour of Standards Commissioner Report on fake consultancy job of Minister’s wife

The government, represented by Justice Minister Jonathan Attard will be voting along with Opposition members Ryan Callus and Mark-Anthony Sammut in favour of the Standards Commissioner’s report on the fake consultancy job awarded to the wife o f the Tourism Minister, Amanda Muscat. In a terse statement the Justice Minister said the government has no objection to vote in favour of the report. Opposition Member of Parliament Mark Anthony Sammut said the Opposition was voting in favour of the report which clearly concludes there is a breach of ethics.

Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo and Gozo and Planning Minister Clint Camilleri have so far refused to resign over the scandal involving the fake job arranged by Minister Clint Camilleri for Minister Clayton Bartolo’s wife.

The Parliamentary Speaker Anฤกlu Farrugia postponed the vote for next week to receive the submissions of the Members of the Committee and the Ministers concerned with the case before the vote.
