Sources who spoke to this news portal have confirmed that an Extraordinary General Meeting will be held today by Floriana FC. This portal is also informed that not all members were informed of the meeting which will take place tonight.
It seems that the meeting was called by club President Johan Said citing urgency to discuss issues that are causing conflict in the club.
The same sources also told The Maltese Herald that the Floriana FC media committee resigned en masse some weeks back due to what were termed as ‘internal issues’.
Recent developments have revealed attempts to disrupt the functioning of the club’s committee, a situation that has caused significant frustration among the current leadership. This unrest has prompted the urgent convening of an extraordinary general meeting.
It seems that there is still some unrest over last season’s disappointing loss to Hamrun Spartans which all but paid of the Greens’ hopes for another Premier League title.
The meeting is expected to address critical issues, with the possibility of resignations not being ruled out as part of the discussions.
Floriana FC will return to action on Saturday, November 23, at 1:30 PM at the Centenary Stadium, where they will face Mosta. The team currently holds second place in the league standings with 23 points, trailing leaders Birkirkara by five. Impressively, Floriana remains unbeaten after 11 matches.
