The Syrian rebel offensive has been halted at the city of Hama but clashes against the Syrian Army are ongoing. Syrian rebels are also taking up arms in other parts of Syria including in the south in Daraa. Russia responded as it typically does in retaliation to Syrian rebels by conducting airstrikes against hospitals having bombed the Aleppo University Hospital. Civilians were also bombed in Idlib and the Syrian Army fired ballistic missiles against rebels.
Iranian militant convoys travelled to Syria from Iraq to aid the Syrian Army as Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met with Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi in Damascus who told the Syrian dictator that he had never seen Syria in such a difficult position. As the meeting took place, the US air force conducted air strikes against some of the Iranian convoys on the Syrian/Iraqi border in the north-western and Kurdish controlled region of Syria.
Kurdish SDF forces clashed with their Turkish-backed Syrian counterparts and are fighting for control over several areas in the north of the country that have been abandoned by the Syrian government. Both Kurdish forces and the Syrian rebels are capturing Russian, Iranian and Syrian military equipment as they take over new areas. The SDF is also in control of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighbourhoods in Aleppo.
