Romanian Presidential candidate Elena Lasconi warns of Russian interference in Eastern Europe

Romanian presidential candidate Elena Lasconi warned of Russian interference in Eastern Europe after she called Georgia’s President Salome Zourabichvili to declare her support  to Georgia’s fight for democracy. Elena Lasconi also stated that, alongside Moldovan President Maia Sandu and the President of Georgia, she is fighting against Russian propaganda aimed at steering their nations away from the West.

Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi is still engulfed by protests during the week after a weekend-long of protests burst throughout the country. Georgian security forces are now rounding up Opposition leaders in the city and beating them up before arresting them. Georgians are protesting a coup through fraud in the general elections by the ruling-party Georgian Dream.

Elena Lasconi will face off her pro-Russian adversary Calin Georgescu in the second round of Romania’s presidential elections next Sunday.
