Cleaning up politics and the government from Freemasons

The Labour Party has a clause in its statute stating that no members can be simultaneously a member of a secret society: a reference to Freemason lodges. The rule makes sense because members of a secret society or a Freemason lodge vow their loyalty to their secret society. A party member will also be loyal first to his secret society before being loyal to his political party.

The same principle should apply to government officials. Government officials who are also Freemasons are first and foremost loyal to their secret society and not to public service. Politicians and government officials who are members of the Grand Sovereign Lodge of Malta lead by Simon Cusens include, Gavin Gulia, Lands CEO Robert Vella and the Director of Culture at the Ministry for National Heritage, Aleks Farrugia. Kurt Buhagiar whose construction site killed Jean Paul Sofia is also a member of the same lodge.

Simon Cusens leads a Freemason lodge with government officials and politicians and yet, he didn’t know he was involved an insider trading deal when he sold his company to his employee and fellow Freemason. Yet what is the interest of individuals to become members with his lodge if not to cut insider trading deals with other individuals you can trust?

This isn’t an innocent organisation where men in a mid-life crisis gather together to discuss history and their esoteric beliefs. It is an organisation for shady men to extend their power and connections.

Note, that successful businessmen, don’t feel the need to join secretive societies to extend their power and connections: they join public organisations which transparently and openly push their interests like chambers of commerce. On the other hand, principled, hard-working and successful government officials, don’t join secret societies or find fake part-time jobs with the University of Malta: they spend their evenings doing homework and reading piles of documents.
