Nigel Scerri denies connections with Joseph Muscat: up to €9 million in property purchases since 2021

The accountant Nigel Scerri called me following the publication of this article and denied he had any connections with Joseph Muscat. He said the rumour was started by a resident of George Borg Olivier Street after he tried to set-up a “residential institution” for poor people with a property he bought in George Borg Olivier Street. He gave me a long story about his intention about doing a charity institution and blames the residents for not allowing him to do it.

Nigel Scerri bought other houses in George Borg Olivier street including the number 50, 52 and 53, with two of them earmarked to be turned into guesthouses. He denied that he intends to turn George Borg Olivier’s house into a guesthouse.

Since 2021, Nigel Scerri bought up to €9 million in various properties mostly in Sliema and Madliena. He explained that he started doing well with his business since 2013 and and that he stopped doing work for Dizz Group in 2020. According to him, his property purchases are all made through his own capital, which is composed of savings.

This is an ongoing investigation by The Maltese Herald, with more revelations to come as our inquiry progresses.
