Footage is released of supposed attack on Chadian Presidential palace

Chadian authorities have released footage of the supposed attack on the Chadian Presidential palace. The footage shows a group of men dressed in civilian clothing walking in an orderly manner towards the Presidential palace before guards start shooting at them. The men scattered after being shot with many seen heading towards the entrance of the Presidential palace. A different angle of the video shows some of the men charging and attacking the guards after having fired at them once they were inside the premises of the palace. Two soldiers were reported to have been killed with up to 20 men killed.

Government officials have made various statements describing the attack as an attempt to “destabilise” the country while previously other officials stated that it was a attempted coup by Boko-Haram. Chadian government authorities are claiming that the incident was a terrorist attacked aimed at destabilising the Presidential institution, but no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Local Chadian media sources are stating that the incident was an accident after a bus broke down and a group of agricultural workers left the bus in an orderly manner. The workers panicked and scattered after they were shot at.
