German Vice-Admiral Jan Christian Kaack announces sabotage attacks against 4 naval vessels

Earlier this week, German Vice-Admiral Jan Christian Kaack stated that 4 German naval vessels have been sabotaged. One recently produced K130 was sabotaged with small metal shavings poured in its engine. Officers onboard the ship noticed the shavings before turning on the engine and prevented the engine from being extensively damaged.

The Vice-Admiral confirmed these statements with German newspaper Suddeustche Zeitung. He said that over the past few weeks, the German Navy was the target of several sabotage attacks including break-ins at naval bases and theft. German naval officials serving also reported being harassed by strangers.

The Vice-Admiral also made reference to the recent sabotage attacks against undersea cables in Europe but stopped short of blaming Russia for the attacks on the German Navy.
