Earlier today, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskly met with Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan where they discussed the Russian war on Ukraine. Following the meeting President Erdogan said that Ukraine’s territorial integrity must be respected and that Turkey will support Ukraine to obtain a long-term peace. President Zelensky praised Turkey’s position and said that it should be included in talks with Russia over a peace deal with Ukraine.
In the press conference President Zelensky made critical remarks of the US position on Ukraine saying that its proposals align with Russia’s interests and that Europe is currently showing more support. HE said he was not invited to Saudi Arabia for talks, following his refusal to sign away 50% of Ukraine’s mineral resources to the US. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was in talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Saudi Arabia where they discussed the lifting of sanctions on Russia following a peace deal with Ukraine. President Zelensky added that he won’t be visiting Saudi Arabia in the coming days.
