The US Trump Administration is pressuring the government of Romania to free the suspected human trafficker and pedophile Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate. They are being accused of human trafficking and money-laundering and Andrew Tate is also being charged with having sex with a minor. The brothers are also wanted in the UK for the same charges apart from tax fraud and evasion.
President Trump’s advisor and Special Envoy Richard Grenell raised the issue of the Tate brothers with the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emil Hurezeanu during the Munich Security Conference last week. Richard Grenell pressured the Romanian Minister to hand back the Tate brothers their passports.
Earlier this week, Andrei ศฤrnea, a spokesperson for the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied that the Tate brothers were discussed between Minister Emil Hurezeanu and Special Envoy Richard Grenel. Later on, the Romanian Foreign Minister was forced to admit, under pressure by journalists, that the US Special Envoy did indeed mention the Tate brothers and their case in the meeting with the Foreign Minister, but denied that the US pressured Romania over the court case.
Tory Shadow Justice Minister Robert Jenrick wrote a short statement saying that the Tate brothers are accused of rape and human trafficking in the UK and no obstacles should be made to their extradition to the UK to face justice. Andrew Tate has in the past claimed he has close connections with the Trump family and even visited Donald Trump Junior at the Trump Tower years ago.
